Injection Mould Materials

P & R's production uses in excess of 25 polymer raw materials. P & R have at least 40 mould presses operating at any one time. Material supply is therefore key to the efficiency of the injection moulding business. A sophisticated material handling system feeds each machine with the correct formulation blown direct from silos. The silos are connected to a smart link monitoring system, which is read by their polymer suppliers, allowing them to assess stock levels and arrange deliveries accordingly. Raw materials are no longer visible on the factory floor, reducing the hazard through split bags, increasing production floor space and improving injection moulding efficiencies.
Although P&R process a multitude of raw materials the most common fall into the following groups:

• ABS – Acrylonitrile – Butadiene – Styrene
• PA – Nylon
• PC – Polycarbonate
• PP – Polypropylene
• HIPS – Hi Impact Polystyrene
