SUMMARY.

Paterson and Rothwell -   design critical moulding

This part has a multitude of undercuts and clip parts on the inside face so to avoid sink marks.   We spent several days on the computer thickening and thinning different sections until we were happy; we had pretty much eradicated the risk. The outer face needed a textured finish but because the customer could not allow us any draw taper we had to incorporate 4 sliding cores to release the part with a blemish free face.   The lead time looks excessive but we were on a strict right first time in time for its mating part so caution was the key word.
